The City’s Environmental Education Center is a green facility located in the 113-acre Veterans Oasis Park on the northeast corner of Chandler Heights and Lindsay roads. The EEC promotes eco-friendly lifestyles through modeling and through programs, classes and workshops for children and adults. The center offers programs in a variety of environmentally related topics such as astronomy, composting, birding, gardening, photography, nature writing, and nature-based art, music and science. The EEC also offers a weekly Mother Nature’s Storytime program for preschoolers, monthly open houses, moonwalks and birdwalks, and regularly held guided hikes and nature walks.
Inside the Center one can find native snakes, tarantulas, and other animals on display, information on urban fishing, our park and other city events, Owl's Nest Nature Store, snacks, and public restrooms.
