This can be both a evening or overnight trip depending on your schedule - It Will be a free overnight at Four Peaks Wilderness Area if you stay under the stars with us. We will be camped on top of 4 Peaks because it is very dark. It is a great place to watch the Perseid Meteor Showers. Need Chair, Blanket, Pillow, Tent, Tripod, Cable release, Coffee, Hot Chocolate, water, bug spray NOTE: This Will be an Overnight and or a "Day Trip" All are welcome to camp out with the 3 Groups! THE LONG DESCRIPTION, if staying overnight: (READ ALL B4 YOU EMAIL ME QUESTIONS!!) You're invited to attend a free weekend Perseid Meteor Shower star gazing event and campout on the top of Four Peaks overlooking Roosevelt Lake. The spot is on the north side of Four Peaks and has a breathtaking panoramic view via of Roosevelt Lake. We will be able to see phenomenal sunrises to the east and sunsets to the west from this premium camping spot. This event is kid and pet friendly as long as they are well-behaved. If not, we will tie them to a tree. :o) At night, we will be laying on a giant tarp, listening to some classic rock and maybe a little country and watching the hundreds of falling stars that will be streaking through the sky in the early morning from 1:00 am until just before sunrise. The shooting stars should number several hundred per hour. Some of the shooting stars will be so bright you can actually see the smoke coming off the backside of the meteors as they blaze across the sky. It will be phenomenal. The good news is that there will be virtually no moon light this year and we should be able to see billions of stars too. You need to bring a sleeping bag, air mattress and your choice of Mimosas, Bloody Mary's or your favorite soft drinks. Once the sun comes up you'll need pop-up shade canopy's and tents. I will bring a kitchen with stove and all the cookware you need. You need to bring your own plates, cups, silverware, trash bags and one green can of propane. You need to wash your own dishes and haul your own trash away. Due to a recent influx of organized cooks/chefs we are going to shift to a group cooking effort. To participate you need to bring some food to cook. This will apply to breakfast on Saturday and Sunday morning as well as Saturday night. You bring it and we'll cook it. In the comment box below, please review what every one else is bringing and what you plan to add to the buffet. Bring nothing, eat nothing. No it will not be kosher. No it will not be vegan. If you need some type of special food preparation you will need to take care of yourself. After a good nap there are plenty of activities to satisfy your every outdoor adventure desire. There are hundreds of miles of ATV/Jeep trails for the offroaders. I will be leading a kayaking trip to Lake Roosevelt for people that want to bring or rent kayaks. Click here for last years kayaking pictures. People with boats can go fishing/water skiing on Arizona's largest reservoir. The Tonto Cliff Dwellings are worth checking out. And hikers can either hike to Brown's Peak that starts at the Lone Pine Trailhead and goes by an old Amethyst (purple gemstones) mine, which is considered by many to contain some of the United State's premier Amethyst gemstones. The mine is a private claim located between the southern two peaks. There is plenty of room at this location for tents, popup tents and big RVs. The road to get to this location is a smooth graded dirt road with a jiggle factor of only 1 jiggle. The highest peak of the Four Peaks is Brown's Peak, which reaches an elevation of approximately 7,657 feet. Brown's Peak is the northernmost peak of the four.
