      AVA Advocate Training:

      • Equips you to come alongside a victim of Domestic Violence or Childhood Sexual Abuse with understanding and support
      • Informs you about the issues in Domestic and Childhood Sexual Abuse
      • Provides contextual understanding of the Scriptures that can misunderstood in dealing with DV or CSA
      • Aquaints participants with the issues pertaining to DV and CSA--some sensitive and delicate

      AVA (Advocacy for Victims of Abuse) is a ministry of the Evangelical Covenant Church.  This training experience is open to lay persons, clergy, church staff, professionals and volunteers in helping professions, Stephen Ministers or anyone desiring to learn more about how to help those affected by Domestic Violence and Childhood Sexual Abuse--two issues deeply impacting the Church today.  

      The training will be conducted by Yvonne DeVaughn, Denominational Director of AVA for the Evangelical Covenant Churches, Pastor Corrie Gustafson and William DeVaughn, Trained Regional AVA Advocates for Arizona.  

      The event will be held at Hope Covenant Church, 1770 S. Dobson Road, Chandler, AZ from 8:00-4:30 pm Saturday, March 23, 2013.  

      The cost of the event is $20 and includes registration, materials, snacks and coffee breaks and lunch during the scheduled lunch break.
